Description
Harold Desmarais has been involved in lesbian and gay movements since November 1972 and was the first executive secretary for the Coalition for Gay Rights in Ontario in 1980, when there was a push for an amendment to the Ontario Human Rights Code to include protections for sexual orientation. Desmarais discusses the creation of the Coalition for Lesbian and Gay Rights in Ontario, Fruit Cocktail, the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence and other protests.
