Description

Nik Redman is a Black, Caribbean, queer, trans, parent, activist, and DJ. Redman was involved in the Black activist community, then later became involved in Ottawa's queer community, Queer Nation, AIDS rallies, and worked for CKLN Pink Antenna, a queer community radio show. Redman notes the early absence of trans issues in organizations such as the Gays and Lesbians of Ottawa, and others, and highlights the importance of a transnational perspective. Interview conducted on 4 November 2011 by A.J. Lowik.
