Donald (1950- ) Description An account of the resource Struck by a bolt from the blue when she was 11 in the form of a ginger-haired girl in her class in Chesterfield - she was in love. A process which has brought much pleasure since and more hard work than she anticipated. The struggle to know and not to know at the same time, then to put the unthinkable into words, left her with the strong feeling that no youngster should have to pick or hack their way through this thicket ever again. In England, she worked with Cambridge Women’s Liberation, the counselling organization Friend, and a variety of gay and women’s groups. She initiated the Cambridge Lesbian Line and was on the national executive of the Campaign for Homosexual Equality. Falling in love yet again, she came to Canada in 1980 and has worked with the Coalition for Lesbian and Gay Rights in Ontario (CLGRO) ever since.
