She has been a participant at demonstrations and protests, and an out queer in primarily straight places. Farrow speaks animatedly about the founding of Jane's Walk, and the importance of storytelling in queer history. Desmarais discusses the creation of the Coalition for Lesbian and Gay Rights in Ontario, Fruit Cocktail, the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence and other protests. He authored the controversial article "Men Loving Boys Loving Men" for The Body Politic in 1977; Hannon discusses the controversy, subsequent raid on the magazine's offices, and the charges laid against him. Kinsman has been involved with the radical and revolutionary left and became involved in the Gay Liberation Movement in the mid-1970s, was an executive on the board of the Gay Alliance Toward Equality and was involved in the massive resistance to the bathhouse raids in Toronto, among other activist actions.
