Ed Jackson was a member of The Body Politic collective and one of the founders of the AIDS Committee of Toronto (ACT). For Jackson, the Queer Liberation Movement wasn't solely about equality, but also about how people define gender roles and their roles in society, through critiques of power and privilege, and the importance of power and class. Inspired by the Black Civil Rights Movement, and feminism, they sought to change the world.

El-Farouk Khaki is the founder of Salaam, was the grand marshal in Pride Toronto, and has sat on numerous boards and committees. Khaki identifies as a queer, brown, Muslim immigrant, as well as a Canadian lawyer and advocate. He discusses the multiplicity of his identities and how that contributes to a larger liberation. For Khaki, it is through liberation of the mind and opening the heart, through which all change is possible.

Evan Adams is interviewed by Tom Warner about growing up on his reserve in British Columbia, coming out while studying at McGill University, and the challenges and opportunities he has experienced organizing in Two-Spirit communities. An extended interview between Tom Warner and Gary Kinsman, an academic and activist who discusses gay political activism in the 1970s and 1980s in Toronto and the maritimes.
Part 1 covers coming out and his early life, and getting involved with gay and leftist politics in the 1970s. He discusses the necessity of revolution for gay, lesbian, and women's politics, and addresses the opportunities and challenges around activism and press coverage of Anita Bryant.
Part 2 covers Pride's political potential, the Right to Privacy Committee and the Bathhouse Raids, AIDS social service work and activism, Bill 7, and the Charter of Rights and Freedoms Kinsman also discusses gay and lesbian studies and the homophobia at U of T.
Part 3 discusses activism in Newfoundland around pride celebration and sexual orientation protections, pornography and moral panic in the media, and washroom raids.

Gary Kinsman is a queer, social justice and anti-capitalist activist, and has done scholarly work around these issues. Kinsman has been involved with the radical and revolutionary left and became involved in the Gay Liberation Movement in the mid-1970s, was an executive on the board of the Gay Alliance Toward Equality and was involved in the massive resistance to the bathhouse raids in Toronto, among other activist actions. Kinsman separates out the difference between formal legal rights and on-the-ground material social changes for the most vulnerable.
