Description

Charlie Hill is a past curator of Canadian art at the National Gallery of Canada. While at the University of Toronto, he was the first president of the University of Toronto Homophile Association in 1969, and credits activists Jearld Moldenhauer and Ian Young as important people in the organization's founding. Hill charts the development of various outgrowths and spread of various groups across Toronto and Ottawa, including as president of the Gays of Ottawa from 1972 to 1975. Interview conducted on 23 October 2011 by A.J. Lowik.
