Description

A torch-bearer for several generations of lesbian writers and activists, Jane Rule has written 12 critically acclaimed books and created a legacy of active engagement in the pursuit of lesbian and gay rights. Her beautifully crafted, pioneering first novel, Desert of the Heart (1964), was written before the formation of a gay liberation movement.

Her life and work have been honoured in an inspiring and moving film by Lynne Fernie and Aerlyn Weissman, Fiction and Other Truths: A Film About Jane Rule. (1998 Induction Statement)

Militante, auteure de 12 livres primés par la critique, y compris son premier roman pionnier, Desert of the Heart (1964), écrit avant le début du mouvement de libération homosexuelle.
